As described in the brochure: Tuesday – Day 3: The Quiet Side of the Island & the Cliffs of Aquinnah – Your first destination of the day is the small fishing village of Menemsha which was made famous by the movie Jaws. Board a special bike ferry to reach a beautiful section of the route that traverses bluffs and sand dunes en route to Aquinnah. Enjoy dramatic views over the gorgeous painted cliffs before exploring the beach below. For centuries Aquinnah has served as a sacred place for the island’s original inhabitants, the Wampanoag, whose ancestors still inhabit the area. Visit a lovely private beach where you might go for a swim or simply relax and enjoy the rhythm of the surf. Lunch will be another delicious picnic served by your tour leaders. You’ll also have the opportunity to witness the creations of local artisans at the Martha’s Vineyard Glassworks and the Granary Gallery. Watch as glass is molded into brilliant forms, marvel at vivid images of local seascapes and landscapes, along with abstract sculpture and many other works ofart. This fabulous display at the Gallery showcases the works of over 300 local artists. Tonight enjoy award winning cuisine served with spectacular views at the Inn’s Beach Plum Restaurant.
